Since being invented the last century, plastic is massively used because of its nature light and good performance. During 2000-2010, the consumption of plastic will increase by 3% annually, and reaches 186 million tons in 2010. The massive use of plastic not only has consumed massive petroleum and the energy, but cannot be naturally degraded, burning plastics produces massive of carbon dioxide, partially causes and aggravates "the white pollution" and "the greenhouse effect".

In order to impel technology advancement of biobased and biodegradable materials, promote the union of production 、 study and research in this domain , promote research and development, production and application, as well as consummate the examination and the standard system, it is very significant to hold conference to discuss it. We invite the international profession association engaging in the biodegradable materials to operate together, some university scientific research institution to participate in, we also plan to invite some officer in government such as World Expo Shanghai 2010 and so on to attend it. The goal is to provide the exchange of academic, technical, the market as well as the certification.

The annual meeting of Degradable Plastics Committee of CPPIA is conducted at the same time.
